About Us
We are a small company that's been around since 1994. Back then, two fellows - Roger Patterson and Dave Spillman - were backpacking together, and found themselves aggravated at the clunky canteens and water bottles they were hauling into the back woods. They had experience making belts already, and decided to put their skills towards creating a water bottle carrier. They noticed that most all disposable water bottles have lips that go around the neck of the bottle. They tinkered a bit with all kinds of crud, including vacuum belts and baling wire! It's a mystery whether or not they tried duct tape, but it's difficult to imagine any chap trying to solve a problem without that sticky miracle.
Finally, they arrived at a functioning plastic prototype that was later transmogrified into rubber because it was more durable. They put it to the test, too. Bottles and straps were dropped from houses and even dragged through the rapids in Arizona's mighty Grand Canyon. Given the survival rate of the water bottles and the straps that held them captive through these rigorous routines, they figured they had a winner.
